CHOOSING THE RIGHT PERSONAL TRAINER

About CHOOSING THE RIGHT PERSONAL TRAINER

Let seasoned Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach, Pam Harrelson, take all the mystery out of Personal Training for you! What does it cost? What will take place? What are red flags in your initial consult?

These 15 pages are from twenty three years of working in athletic clubs, obtaining Personal Training educational units, and working with many, many clients "one on one."

Many trainers incorporate "health coaching" within the training. Pam has done that for 23 years way ahead of the "health coach craze."

There is no "wrong trainer." There are a variety of approaches from trainers. There is no "one size fits all" for client programs or that "any trainer" will be a good fit for a client. This little book will help you get the right fit and feel that your investment in yourself was worth every penny.

All trainers have great passion for health and fitness. Their passion is contagious!

Pam Harrelson has been certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Personal Trainer since 1997 with hundreds of educational units in Physical Therapy, weight lifting, cardiovascular, and working with weight loss.   In the past, she has been certified by Cooper Institute and Apex as a Nutrition Coach, under the strict umbrella of Registered Dieticians. She worked for 14 years at large athletic clubs and for 12  years as a free lance trainer, making a priority for 5 grandbabies in a row!

Pam relies on position statements and position stands from large scientific bodies such as USDA Dietary Guidelines, American College of Sports Medicine, and American Dietetic Association. These position stands are in public domain.

Pam has counseled or trained approximately 2,000 clients over the course of 26 years and at age 72 has retired from large clubs and trains two clients in her home studio.

As a civic mission to the public, Pam was facilitator for the Lifeway Educational program, which teaches a healthy lifestyle, in three different locations. For years Pam gave motivational seminars to civic groups and churches to motivate folks to get off the couch!

Twenty years previous to her health and fitness missions, Pam directed Prison Ministries at her church.

Pam's friends and five grandchildren enjoy her semi-retirement as well. She has street bikes for them, bike paths, and kayaks where they have a relaxing paddle on the bayous. She loves pulling the kids on a tube from her jet ski and trolling the Tchefuncte River on her yellow party barge, called Mimi's Crew.

The "Rest of the Truth" was Pam's first book, in print.  She updated that to an Ebook, "Practical Advice for Lifetime Maintenance After Bariatric Surgery," and that ebook sold steadily for 5 years! Pam has now completed the Second Edition of the Rest of the Truth with many updates and revisions.

Pam enjoys sharing her faith at Christian events in a topical fashion, which ends with a powerful invitation to surrender one's life to Jesus Christ.   She hopes that this new book, and grand kids being older (which frees up her time),  will result in a renewal of speaking invites! She is still young at heart and full of fire, and has now recovered from changing diapers for 12 years!
